I was hesitant to buy an LCD TV because so often they seem to have such poor contrast, have lot's of visual artifacts and look horrible with fast moving scenes. However, Plasma technology is all but dead and there are no 37" Plasmas anyway. So I decided to look at high end LCD's.
I saw the Samsung LN37B650 at a local electronics store (for $300 more than the price on Amazon) and side-by-side it looked head and shoulders above all the other 37" LCD's in the store. After doing more research online and comparing specs, I decided upon this TV.
Amazon delivered to my home in Los Angeles in 5 business days through a delivery company called "Pilot". The delivery arrived exactly within the appointment window I scheduled with Pilot, and the box and merchandise were in perfect condition.
I connected the TV to my HD cable box with an HDMI cable. HD picture quality is immaculate. I never could see the picture quality in SD at the local store, so I was surprised and thrilled to see that in SD the picture is every bit as good as my reliable CRT that this TV replaced. The SD picture on my 50" Sony KDS-50A2000 does not compare to the excellent SD picture on the Samsung.
My only complaint is the lack of a printed manual. At these prices, Samsung shouldn't have gone cheap by neglecting to add a paper manual. Having to review the manual on the TV is a pain.
I could've spent ½ the price on a cheap 37" LCD, but would've hated the picture. I think in this case, the saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. I am glad that I spent more to get what may be the best possible picture quality in a 37" LCD TV.

| I highly recommend this LCD TV. Many "experts" claim the difference between 720p and 1080p is not noticeable in a 37" size lcd tv. I disagree with those opinions as I found the images much sharper, the blacks much blacker and the colors truer whether the source is Direct HD TV or my Sony Blu-ray DVD player. Samsung has made an outstanding product. |
Outstanding 37" LCD

Before I purchased my Samsung LN37B650, I did a ton of research both on-line in the various electronic forums and in person at several brick and mortar electronics stores. It took me nearly two months to make a final decision.
I was looking to purchase a 32" or 37" LCD television that was 1080p with a 120hz refresh rate. I looked at the Sony KDL-32XBR9, the LG 32LH40, the LG 37LH40, the LG 37LH55 (240hz), and the Panasonic 37" G1 in addition to the Samsung B650 in both the 32" and 37" versions.
After narrowing my choice down to the Sony or the Samsung based on my own observations and other reviews that I had read, I chose the Samsung LN37B650. I really wanted a 37" rather than 32", so that eliminated the Sony from consideration since they do not have a 37" panel this year. Also, I own a 2008 Samsung LN46A650 that I purchased from Amazon in April, 2008, and since it has been a perfect TV for me, I chose to go with a proven winner.
I'm using the new 37B650 in our small sun room/family room that has windows on three sides. Glare is not an issue, especially if we draw the shades on the side where the sun comes in. The TV has outstanding black levels, brilliant colors, and an absolutely glorious picture. This is truly a great TV.
I might also add that the CEVA personnel who delivered the TV were very courteous and brought the TV into the room where we wanted it. Since it is less than 40", they did not set it up for us, but we had no problem doing it ourselves. Attaching the stand was no problem, and for those who have said the stand looks somewhat "flimsy," I would have to disagree. It seems to be very sturdy and the entire unit seems very stable.
Overall, I think I made a wise decision. I bought an outstanding TV at an excellent price and it was delivered on time and with no hassle at all. What more can you ask? Thanks, Amazon. I'm a customer for life. |

Samsung LN37B650 37-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
I am very pleased with the performance of this television. It is very easy to set up: I barely had to tweak the color. I have it hooked up to a satellite HD box and the picture is outstanding! I researched this purchase for several weeks before buying and am extremely happy with the Samsung. The specs are excellent and the price at Amazon was the lowest I could find. Delivery went without a hitch. Definitely 5 stars. |

I bought this TV to replace my circa 2002 27" Samsung flatscreen. I cannot tell you just how AWESOME this tv is. It is so much more than what I was used too that I am still learning about the tv. The ToC is just plain genius and it adds some color to the tv. I asked around on some online forums and everyone said that this TV was great and I agree. It has 120hz so fast action scenes show so much clarity.
It has to be my cable connection (Ft Polk, LA) but the picture I get from cable is still grainy but it is a lot better than my old TV.

| I recently purchased a Samsung 55 inch LED 7 series set to replace a Toshiba DLP in the living room. The LED is AWESOME. I am so pleased with it that I wanted a 37 inch Samsung LCD to replace the 32 inch Sharp Aquos in my bedroom. Granted the Aquos has a very good picture but the LN37B650 is very noticeably superior. Superior contrast, color saturation, and much darker blacks. The set looks great, the swivel base is a nice feature, and the sound was surprisingly pleasant. I purchased it from Amazon as a warehouse item with "slight damage" to the cabinet. There is a small scuff on the front that is barely noticeable. Saved $227 on the regular Amazon price! What a deal. FYI I have noted several people review purchases of "used" items from the warehouse and they are all thrilled with the condition of the purchase when it arrives. If a small blemish doesn't scare you away take advantage of the savings on the rare ocassion they are presented. I am now a Samsung fanatic and highly recommend this set if you are looking for a 37 inch LCD.Samsung LN37B650 37-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color |
Excellent Value for the Price and Service

I was shopping around for a sub-42", 1080p, 120Hz HDTV for at least 1~2 weeks. Finally, I selected Samsung LN37B650 and found Amazon provided the best pricing available.
But, after reading some reviews about the shipment service via CEVA. I was a little hesitated to place my order with Amazon. Given that Samsung provides good services & supports, I took my risks and ordered through Amazon (via CEVA). My thoughts were if anything goes wrong, I am sure Amazon and Samsung will be taking good care of me. So, I went ahead and ordered.
I received the unit last week and loved it ever since. It only took me about less than 10 minutes to set up everything and hook it up with XBox360, BD/DVD, and Internet. Through the Internet connection, I also upgraded the Firmware. The UI and set up menu are very easy to adjust. I think Samsung has really done a great job this time.
About CEVA, here are my thoughts (based on this purchasing experience strictly):
I thought CEVA was very responsible. They called me 1 day before the delivery and also 1 hour before the delivery. They wanted to make sure that I was there when they deliver the package. The LN37B650 was shipped from Reno, NV to LAX. CEVA actually delivered 1 day earlier before the scheduled time. If I have to give them a grade, I will probably give then 95 out of 100.
I think this shopping experience would have been 100% perfect if the paper/package box was undamaged. It could have been from the air shipment. In any case, I took the risk to accept the package and found the unit brand new and untouched. Other than that, it was a pretty good shopping experience for me.

I went with this TV after much research. I was a little reluctant to buy it over the internet (what if the delivery people DROP it in transit???), but I really don't like Best Buy's business practices, so I decided to give it a try. We'll see how it goes - so far so good. It appears to be the best value with great features for a 37". I ordered from Amazon on Sunday evening. It was shipped on Monday, and I received a courtesy call from Pilot Freight on Tuesday, letting me know it would arrive in town on Wednesday. Tip: make sure Amazon has an accurate phone number for you. They also let me know they would call again on Wednesday (today) to set up a delivery date/time. Was happy with the courtesy call. Will update this review as the process moves forward. Oh, and I also researched blu-ray players and ended up ordering the LG BD390 with BD Live and Netflix streaming. I almost bought the Samsung BD-P3600. It had the same great technical reviews, but the customer reviews weren't as consistently good as the LG. I'm expecting that to arrive this week as well, and will review it after I've had a chance to hook it up and use it.
Update: Delivery was within the 4 hour window promised. The picture is beautiful. I'm still playing with the setttings. I'm a little frustrated with the picture size being stretched on some channels and very small on others, but it has to be a setting issue - either on my cable box, tv, or both combined.
Update: settings issue resolved. It's a great TV, and I'm glad I got it. The picture is consistently clear and crisp. |

First I would like to say that the delivery service also gets the best rating. They were just the best. I figured they would just set it inside the door and leave. They brought it into the bedroom plugged it in and tuned it for me. They did not leave until they were sure it was working properly.
I have always purchased Sony or Panasonic. I had a 42" Panasonice Viera Plasma in my bedroom on a free standing stand. The stand just took up too much room. I read all the reviews here for several weeks before deciding on the Samsung. I even went over to BestBuy and watched my final two choices. It was Samsung the whole way. It's light [30+ lbs.] and sits on a stand with wheels so I can move it much easier.
Colors are all vivid and make you feel like you are right there. Thank you Amazon! ! ! ! |

This TV is just what you'd expect from Samsung: spectacular. I've always loved Samsung displays, but I'm here to give a non-biased review, so here you go...
I did a lot of research on various TVs before making my mind up on this one. I picked it up at Best Buy since I didn't want to deal with shipping.
WOW.
PROS:
------------
+ Awesome contrast ratio. The blacks are deliciously deep. You can hardly see any bleed at all even with the contrast and brightness up very high. Looks comparable to the edge-lit LED TVs.
+ XBOX 360/PS3 looks gorgeous on this. Period.
+ Stand is glass and very sturdy/thick. TV is attached to a spindle on top of the stand by 8 screws. It rotates but cannot pitch or tilt.
+ Menu system is beautiful and easy to navigate/read.
+ AutoMotion looks SWEET for Sports. I like it for movies, but some people don't because it makes motion look like a soap opera. You can adjust it as much as you want though, and even disable it.
+ Controller is full-featured with large easy-to-read buttons. People with fat thumbs will love this.
+ Has a built-in ethernet port for network connectivity.
+ This TV recognizes USB flash drives and adds them to the input source menu! It has it's own media browser that looks similar to Windows Media Center. You can watch videos, listen to music and view pictures from pretty much any removable storage plugged into the side-mounted USB port. It even plays huge 1920x1080 .MKV files!
CONS:
--------------
+ Lack of pitch and tilt in the stand is disappointing, but my old Samsung stand didn't even rotate, so I'm not complaining.
+ AutoMotion on High can choke and tear/stutter at times during high-movement scenes in movies and such. Most of the time it looks spectacular though.
+ TV speakers are mediocre (hook up that surround sound system!)
+ Menu system feels sluggish. If you've ever used a Motorola cable box (the ones Comcast/Verizon give you), you know exactly what I mean.
+ You must disable AutoMotion for gaming as the processing creates a slight delay between the input and output to the screen. Basically your controller inputs will have a ~50ms delay. It's small, but definitely a disadvantage for games like shooters and racing.
CONCLUSION:
--------------
If you're looking for a spectacular TV that works with everything, feels perfect in a medium-sized room and doesn't empty your wallet, this is it. If you just don't want to dish out the money for an LED TV, get this. The black levels are -seriously- deep. The only real advantage LED has over CCFL TVs right now are the slimmer panel sizes (for edge-lit LED TVs). You wont see much of a difference between LED and this unless you compare it to a more-expensive LED TV that has Local Dimming (the LEDs can be dimmed/turned completely off in dark parts of the screen for a truly black blacks.) If you're debating CCFL vs. LED and decide to go LED, you really should get one with Local Dimming.
I'm incredibly thrilled with my purchase. If you don't want to deal with shipping, Best Buy has these for $999, but the downside is paying tax.
Oh, and when you do pick yours up, try watching the launch scene from Apollo 13 with Tom Hanks in HD with AutoMotion on. It'll make you weep tears of sweet, sweet joy.

Let me start off by stating I do not claim to be hdtv expert. Everything i have learned about these tvs over the years have been from trial and error. this is going to be my fourth hdtv in about six years. my first one was a polaroid 32" not bad to start didnt know its was only 720p but got the job done. I upgraded a few years later to a 46" sharp aquos loved it but couldnt afford to keep making the payments so i decided to return it and just get one cash so i thought i got a good deal on a samsung 37" older model
turns out i got what i paid for so i took it back. it took almost two weeks to get a refund so basically i had no tv and alot of time to do some homework for weeks when i was thinking about taking it back and finally did i had two goals great tv picture and has to match my price range. It was a toss up between the new lg models thats just came out that amazon is advertising all over the site or the new samsungs models. i was really concerned about buying another samsung since i didnt like there last one ,but i decided to give them another go because their specs looked better on paper then any other 37" model out there. i just got it yesterday delivery was smooth got it a day early. i couldnt be happier this tv blows any tv i have ever seen out the water the picture looks so good and fast. i tested out all its options except the internet part who cares really. tried it on my xbox 360 games look better.tried my ps3 blu ray movies popped in the dark knight for the ultimate movie test pasted with flying colors. i even hooked it up to my computer which
im proud to say im typing this review from right now. I normally dont write reviews because only usually buy movies on amazon, but this is a huge purchase for anybody and i think everybody has the right to make a well informed choice for something there going keep for a few years. In closing remember not all tvs are created equal get this one and you wont be disappointed. |

I love this tv and compared to the competition it has more features, better picture, and a higher contrast ratio. The picture is just beautiful but what surprised me was that the tv sounds great without adding additional speakers---that is if you don't want true surround sound. I though with down facing speakers I would have an issue and need to get extra speakers but the sound is phenomenal for a TV. I have this TV in a 20 X 18 room. I would have purchased the LED but they didn't have an LED in this size and a bigger size wouldn't fit in my cabinet. But this picture is almost as good as the LED>
My mom purchased the 55 inch of this tv in May and has loved it and had no problems with it.
I can see the TV in my very bright room as well as when I darken it.
I highly recommend this tv. Because i'm a worry wart, though, i purchased mine at a big box store and got the extended warranty. They attached the stand in the store for me and I was able to carry the tv upstairs by myself and put it in its place.
Some people complained that samsung put the manual on a usb that can only be read by the tv. however, if you go to samsungs website, you can download a pdf of the manuel and read on computer or print it out. I just did this. |

| I really enjoy this TV. I bought this size because it fits in my entertainment center. I did a lot of research before deciding on this one and I believe I made the right decision. The picture qualily and sound are excellant. The touch of color is a figment of someone's imagination, but who cares. I wasn't buying it for that anyway. I love the fact that the TV turns on the stand. It makes it so much easier to get behind it in the entertainment center. I can't think of one thing I don't like about this TV. |

So I bought this television in late November along with my Sony Bravia surround sound home theater system. When I first turned it on, I was blown away. Even the "no signal" was crystal clear ( I could tell then I had the right television.) Putting it together was easy as well. Four screws down, four in the back, and you're done. The Directv man came by the next day, hooked up my HD satellite receiver, once again, blown away. The picture is amazing! Watching sports now are amazing! Movies on both the satellite receiver and on my Samsung BD-P1600 blu-ray player have outstanding output on this television. The sound is pretty much that of SD televisions, but I have read that most HD televisions are like this. No problem, because once you hook this bad baby up to a surround sound system, you can pretty much hit the mute button. The picture is the most important thing, although the sound on the tv is good.
You can set a certain picture and calibration to each input running to the television. I love tinkering with this feature. I have:
HDMI 1-satellite receiver- natural
HDMI 2- surround sound receiver- dynamic
HDMI 3- blu-ray player- BD Wise/Movie
HDMI 4- PS3- natural (sometimes dynamic)
Playing video games on this thing are amazing. I love playing Madden 10 and NBA Live 10 and the tv output will blow you away.
I have HDMI cables running from each input to this television and an optical cable running to the surround sound receiver. I also have a wireless LAN adapter hooked up to it, which allows me to get News, stock quotes, and the weather. I can even hook up my laptop to it if I wanted to. Switching between sources is so easy. Hit the source button, and navigate away. This tv blows me away every time I watch it. It even has a cool sound when I turn it on and off. Don't forget that extended warranty if you invest in this television. |
Yes, do it.

Bought this TV two weeks ago and could not be happier; numerous variable settings allow you to set your perfect picture. Will not repeat all the good things everyone else has said. I do not have any problem with the audio for normal use but do run through an external speaker system when watching movies.
We needed a 37" because of the armoire we put the TV in. Talked to some folks in electronics stores and have also read on internet that 37" TV's may be going away. So, if you need/want one, you might want to research that some more. I don't really know how true it is but there are not many to choose from in this size category so there may be something to it.
If you can get this TV in the $950 range with free shipping, do it. It's a couple hundred dollars more than some (Vizio, Panasonic), but worh it, IMO. |

So I hadh been looking for a new tv sincee October 2009 and originally I had an idea for a 32 in at around 500. I did a lot of research on LCD tv's and finally decided to push it up to 37 in at 800. I had foudn some models I had liked but the minute I saw the LN37B650 I fell in love. The design is nice and the picture quality is superb for a Non-LED LCD tv. Though it is kind of pricey, it is well worth it. Ive had my tv for about a month now and the picture quality is amazing even at the beginning when you use the factory settings. Blu Ray's look so amazing and my Band of Brothers Blu Ray series actually almost pops out of the screen! I use my tv mainly for my PS3 and games look amazing. You might need to adjust the judder settings if you feel they might be blurring the picture a little too much for your taste during games or sport events because it does create a halo around moving objects(this is a problem with most LCD tvs). Ive never felt so satisfied at buying something and I've never felt like I actually got moneys worth until i got this TV. If youre looking for a Tv with great picture and great versatility in adjusting the settings then this is the tv to get. Friends and famliy who see my tv can't believe how great this tv looks and they all have nice tvs as well. So again, if youre looking for a tv with amazing picture quality and youre gunna be using a blu ray player or ps3 or xbox 360, ETC then you should definitely buy this tv!!!

They are guarenteed to leave micro scratches. I cleaned mine and ended with micro scratches all over the bezel. thankfully they are not noticeable in plain light due to the dark bezel. But if you shine a flashlight onto the bezel, you can definitely see all the scratches! |

Delivery was exactly on time and a day earlier than specs. They arrived at exactly their apptmt. time of noon and set up the set and answered all my questions and were gone in 45 minutes. I called their dispatcher to arrange day & time of delivery as I was on a tight schedule and that was the only time frame I had -- they were >> "spot on". So far so good. I hit a button on the remote and lost the picture, couldn't correct the problem from the manual so I called their help line 800# as listed on the front of the manual and the lady solved the problem for me very quickly. The picture quality is excellent / superior -- 5 stars there. I'm still having trouble programing all the volume control into my cable remote so I'm still using 2 remotes, but that's OK because I need the tv remote in order to use the sleep timer anyway. I haven't called for help on this issue yet -- could be something I haven't done yet but this = minor.
Overall, I am very pleased and would definately recommend this set to a friend. I was locked into a 37" maximum screen size because of my wall cabinet. There seems to be less choice and independent reviews on this screen size but I did find an independent website specializing in only 37" and it highly recommended this set over the Panasonic Vierea which was the 2nd choice after it's review and also over the Sony. I opted for the 120Hz over the 60Hz even tho it was more expensive because I figure that I will be keeping this as my main set for quite a few years and wanted to get the best currently available. I haven't yet addressed the issue of headphones for this set but have seen other reviews commenting on lack of a specially designated earphone jack. Will advise my experience on this after I've gotten into it. Overall -- top notch!! |

| Picture clarity is awesome. Buy this set for more than one reason. Loads of input/outputs and picture is great. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because of the Microsoft like menus - somewhat non intuitive and cumbersome. Programmable remote would have been nice also. Other than that, killer set! |

I was looking to upgrade my setup from my old Sony Bravia 32 so I did some homework on the internet like most good consumers do these days. This TV was rated very highly by numerous sources including Consumer Reports. It had all the features on paper that I wanted so I decided to get it. When I first hooked it up my reaction was very positive.
The picture quality is wonderful. The color expression is rich and deep. It handles black levels incredibly well. Okay, good so far. I plugged in my XBOX 360 with a HDMI vr 1.3 rated cable and set it 1080p. This is where my reactions became mixed.
Wherever you go these days, people have TVs with 120hz refresh rates set up next to TVs that have the old 60hz in an attempt to impress upon you the difference. It looks great in stores like Best Buy and Sears... but it's another matter at home. If you turn it to a slightly higher setting you may notice a strange aura around moving objects. After (again) checking online this is apparently a known problem with the technology that Sony and LG also suffer from. So I turn the blur reduction up and the judder reduction down. Good, it looks a bit more smooth without the motion artifacts... but wait. Every now and then it stutters as if it's having a little difficulty keeping up. That's strange... okay. I'll turn the judder reduction down further. Know what? It still happens every now and then. It's less of an issue that it was while I was still playing around with the settings, but it still bugs me a little.
In short, regardless of the problems with 120hz as a collective whole this is a good set for the money. The picture is good, the speakers are decent after they've been used for a few hours (they sound a bit flat up front, probably just needed some burn in time). However, know the the benefits and shortcomings of 120hz. It looks good if you can arrive at a decent setting, but it can still hiccup every now and then. If you're a perfectionist this may bother you a bit more than it does me. Hopefully Samsung will come out with a firmware upgrade that addresses this issue somewhat. |

I ended up getting the bigger Samsung LN37B650. I was replacing the TV in my bedroom but had thoughts of moving this one to our family room. Unfortunately we put it in the bedroom first and I'm not sure we will move it as we're happy with it's size.
One of my requirements was to be able to turn off the TV speakers and use a wireless headphone.
The LG surprisingly doesn't have analog audio out or a headphone jack. So it was eliminated. It does have digital out but that won't work for my headphones. Both the Samsung and Sony have an analog out. My next concern was that you don't turn the TV speaker off but enable external speaker. This causes some of the control features to be unavailable. For example volume-control and mute. My only concern being when I had my old Sony CRT it required an increase in volume to get the wireless headphones to detect sound. On these new set can't control it so I was concerned if it would work with these sets. I went to a store that had both sets, brought my headphones and connected them to both sets and set them to external speakers and the wireless headphones worked with no problem.
The same store had the sets side by side. The Samsung colors are very vivid with the ability to display very high colors. The Sony display was nice but wasn't able to match the Samsung color display. The dark scenes on the Sony were also harder to see. So we went with the Samsung. Now where to purchase, online, a local store? We gave the local store an opportunity to give us there best price after showing them the online prices available. With the lowest price they offered and taxes it wasn't close. We were ready to purchase from [...] but wouldn't you know it when I went to order it the price had gone up. It matched other online retailers but the biggest issue is that most of them will not take any TV's back even if they are DOA when you get them. Buydig was one of the few that would take it back if it was DOA but you would have to pay shipping. Amazon was a little more but they will take it back if DOA and pay shipping. You can't beat that.
I placed the order around 9:00pm on a Monday. When you order through Amazon you can schedule when you want the set delivered. The earliest was Friday but I was unavailable and set it for the following Tuesday. I received and E-mail on Tuesday that the TV had shipped and it would be delivered on the day scheduled but showed it would come on PDT time. That kind of through me as we are in EDT time. On Wednesday a CEVA scheduler called my work number letting me know they had the TV and wanted to confirm when to deliver. Unfortunately I was home but had decided to call them and ask if it would really be delivered on PDT time. They asked if I wanted it delivered between 4:00pm and 9:00pm that evening. Now mind you it was almost 5:00pm. I said sure. I waited and was getting a little worried but got a call about 8:45pm that he was almost to my place. He showed up right at 9:00pm He unboxed, connected the stand and helped me move it to our bedroom. I connected the cable and he started the auto programming. The auto programming takes awhile but he waited patiently and when it was finished the set worked wonderfully. He even had another delivery yet to make. I was pleased and was happy I got it from Amazon and with CEVA's service.
The reason I've not rated it a 5 star is the layout of the remote isn't quite the way I'd like it. Reasons - there is an Info button which gives lots a good channel information but it's down low on the remote. It is also a rather large, long remote and it's not programmable.
To turn on external speaker only to allow just my wireless headphones to work requires 12 button presses on the remote. It would be nice if it was off of the Tools menu with fewer button presses.
The InfoLink needs more features. The weather info is nice but if you could access more I'd enjoy it more.
Would I but it again, yes!!! Enjoy.

Pretty awesome picture quality. A lot better than the 720p 32" Sony Bravia that this one was replacing. Some reviews or salespeople will say that 720p and 1080p doesn't make much difference for broadcast programs, but I think the 1080p is noticably better. DVDs look better, too. If I had more space, I would have purchased the 40" set instead of the 37".
My only complaint is that sometimes text that scrolls along the bottom of the screen looks a little fuzzy for a while, then it becomes sharper and looks fine. This might have something to do with the interpolation mode (automotion?). This is the only reason why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 stars.
The TV was delivered by Pilot. They called ahead to let us know what time they'd be delivering, and they even showed up a few minutes early. They also helped us set up the new TV. There was also a printed manual in the box. Nice swivel base and remote control unit.
I also got a good price by purchasing it directly from Amazon. Took advantage of the email discount code. If I had waited, the cost of this TV would have been lower, but, hey, I've had a chance to enjoy it for a few months already. You can get this now at a very good price, and if you can redeem an electronic coupon, all the better! |
Slow while changing channels

So finally I set to try this TV also. Got confiused between 32 and 37 for sometime. Then finally was locked down to buy a 37 inches TV. I was comparig between Samsung LN37B650, LG 37LH55 and Vizio SV370XVT. Did not get a LG in the local stores such as Best Buys or Frys or WalMart. Got a chance to get Vizio. I almost kept it. This is a great TV with great picture quality and slimmer and lighter than others. However after couple of days I realized that this TV lacks the depth of sound(did not want to buy a sound bar yet). Then got a Samsung LN37B650. Picture looked stunning and the look was very good. The sound was way better than vizio.
However, one thing in this TV really annoyed me. The picture comes on to the TV after 2-3 sec while changing the channel. There is a noticable delay getting the picture in between changing channels. I am not sure if this is just this TV. Is anyone having the same experience? I went to my Sony SXRD 60 inches Vega to try it out. No issues whats so ever. I am again confused. Shall I keep it or return it.
One thing I must say here. No company builds better TV than Sony. Had Sony built a better XBR 37 inches model, I would have gone for it.
Please let me know if anyone is facing this problem.

Excellent picture, AutoMotion settings annoying

Purchased this a few weeks ago. The image quality is excellent. The 120Hz eliminates the 3:2 pull down you'll see when watching movies. However, there is an interpolation mode that generates the extra frames, attempting to reduce motion blur artifacts.
The irony is that while it looks great in many instances, it can generate artifacts in fast paced sporting events (though most of the time this is fine). Also, if you watch movies, the film tends to look like a soap opera video quality until this is switched Off (eliminating the motion blur makes the image really clear and strangely too much like video).
You can set this Off but it is nested under three menus and I cannot seem to save this setting. Very annoying when it kicks in during a movie. This setting does not appear to save correctly so I find I have to switch it Off as a go back and forth between HDMI sources. I am hoping a firmware fix can correct this in the future.
Some other annoyances:
*lack of headphone jack (you will need to get an adapter)
*if you want to use the "buttons" on the set itself, they are solid state and hard to find on the surface of the TV
*no physical manual; digital copy on USB key that is included
Pros:
*excellent picture quality (when the correct settings are chosen)
*lots of ports
*nicely designed frame |

Review of: Samsung LN37B650 37-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
Purchased September 2nd. No picture or volume. Went through hoops with the cable company, Samsung, local electronics repairer (wouldn't touch a brand new TV without any picture or volume - "That's ridiculous - send it back!"), and Amazon. Replacement TV sent out on September 15th. Have used the TV very little since we're remodeling. Finally hooked it up 2 weeks ago. Picture totally died yesterday. We have volume but absolutely no video.
Going through the same strings the second time is worse. Had to have the cable tech he
